This cartoon is saying that we need to stop focusing on the things that don't kill anyone (marijuana) and start worrying more about the more dangerous of substances. It reminds us that ciggarettes, which are 100% legal, kill over 400,000 people in a year while marijuana, which is illegal, has never killed anyone. The worst thing about marijuana is that it causes 750,000 arrests a year, which wouldn't happen if it weren't illegal.
I completly agree with this message. Pot shouldn't be illegal, it's used for medicinal purposes for christ's sake. plus, it makes people happy. If someone could EVER prove to me that marijuana is bad for you it will be a miracle. LEGALIZE IT.

oil octupus
A way for me to explain this poster and the point it is trying to convey, is to make sure you know about the BP oil spill in April of 2010. BP's Deepwater Horizon well exploded. This spill sent oil gushing for 3 months, into the Gulf of Mexico. This of course, quickly spread to many main coastlines of the U.S. This poster shows how huge the spill really was by comparing a giant octopus covered in oil to the size of the coast.
This article is a way to show how the oil spill caused by B.P. has affected the world. We as humans, around the entire world, not just in the U.S use massive amounts of Fossil fuels. As a result we have catastrophes like this oil spill happen. There recently have been tests done on people all over the U.S. that show we now have fourin toxins in our bodies, linked to this oil spill. To me this article is a way to think about how much of a universal problem this has become.

LMAO. :)
Technology is getting to us, and its a MAJOR concern. Were losing ourselves with technology and it could kill us someday.
As you see in this picture this man is using him phone not paying any attention to what is going on around him, hes about to get hit by a bus.
I do agree that technology is getting to be a major concern to people of all ages, you totally stop paying attention to your surroundings and you can get yourself into VERY serious situations, could lead to injuries.
Put your phone down for a minute and get yourself together, you live your life, you're life is not you phone.
Penguins For Peace By: Bree
This cartoon is promoting peace and love. These penguins are sticking together and marching around being friends. They want to save and protect eachother, including the scared baby penguin in the back. I believe this also refrences to Global Warming in the way that if we keep ruining things for eachother, then every bit of humanity has a great possibility it will die.
I really love the messages this cartoon is portraying because I believe we all need to work together, be kind and show love, to find the solutions to problems that actually matter. One saying I try to live by is, "All we need is love!"

Hot damn I got it so this picture is like really clearly saying that like china has no human rights in any flavor. Now that we owe like a really big bucket of money or whatever. I have no idea what they mean by a Hu it sounds like a who or whatever. Any way Obama is really really happy about having his friend from china here and is like y'all got to respect china now be happy. Even though china really don't care about its people and when ever he talks about how cool they are remember that china's full of at least as much crap as we are and are not to be nearly as welcome, as they are.
Now more stuff because you said so. First I don't internet talk so if this sounds stupid, COPE. So any way Obama had his friend come over the other day. I don't know how long he stayed or why we let them leave but hey there like economy is I don't know doing better or something, it couldn't be doing much better bing based on our currency instead of a real tangable thing like gold. I have nothing more to say on this just that any one who can "ignore" human rights in there fiends actions, they can only be expected to do the same. there it is two paragraphs and paranoia exploding all over i cant talk to long this line is tapped. so yea class, bye now.
oh and random internet person who is not in the class. Hi /wave
one more p.s. if ya wonted it official, fansy, and spellt right you wouldn't use the internet.

So, stating the obvious... Obama sitting on Santa's lap with kids behind him that are unhappy. I think that the artist was trying to say that Obama keeps naming off things that he wants on his so called "wish list." The kids behind him probably represent the American people who are extremely unhappy and very mad about the things he wants and the choices he makes. This may also represent that the artist believes that Obama will do what he wants without the consent of the American people and just do what he thinks is right even if there are a lot of people who do not agree with him at all.
Okay, as far as my opinion goes, I have to agree with the artist. I am neither strictly to the left or the right when it comes to Presidential politics because I disagree and agree with both sides on different aspects of their beliefs for the country. However, I do not agree with Obama on very much. I do think he has this evergrowing wish list of things he wants and there are things he tries to act oblivious to when it comes to the people agreeing with his actions. I personally believe that some of his decisions are to better his benefits when it all comes down to it. He tends to focus on the dumbest things and wastes money on them too. I'm not saying that a republican would have been better because they like to spend like money grows on trees as well. But just in subject of just this picture itself, I do not agree with Obama, but I do agree with the artists interpretation of the image.

Barack Obaama
The picture is about having Barack Obama being assassinated and having the new president pick the new stimulus bill because Barack Obama hasn’t been making the right decisions. People must not like how he is running things if they want him to die. I am not sure why people don’t like Obama.
My personal opinion on this isn’t a good idea to be doing. He is the leader of the United States of America and we have to respect the fact that he won the vote and was chosen by the citizens of the U.S. to be president. He is the one who makes the decisions and nobody can really argue with that.
In this picture its talking about obama is feeding more money into the nationaldebt even though he thinks hes trying to help the Democrats are trying to prove the Republicans that the "diet" will work .
I think that Obama is makeing our debt worse by far with the helthcare reforms and loss of businesses because there gose banks of money down the drain. so I agree with this picture.
This cartoon shows democrats throwing away the money of the world.
I agree with this greatly because the members of congress are spending way too much money on pointless things. I like this cartoon because it shows the democrats, the majority in the senate, are passing so many pointless laws that aren't going to work and pour money into these preconceived failures, and by doing so they throwing away money that we work so hard to make in order to continue completing things that we the people either don't know about and/or don't care because it is something irrelevant to us. All the Democrats are doing is basically acting as the waste management of the worlds economy, creating so much more debt then absolutely necessary.

This political cartoon suggests that going to school and getting a degree is not worth much, with the economy going downhill. It suggests that war is an ongoing event that keeps recruiting soldiers, so a graduate will be better off going into war. It mainly points out that the United States is lacking jobs, so in result it is difficult for graduates to find jobs.
My personal opinion about getting an educational degree is that a high school diploma should be earned no matter what because it is essential to have in order to get most jobs. I believe a college degree is great to have because it will open up many more opportunities and doors in the job world. College also makes the average person more knowledgeable and is needed in the world today. Even with the war, I think it is essential to earn an educational degree to benefit you later in the future because later jobs could be easier to find.
